I find that my favorite photographs are often the unplanned, unposed moments that I happen to catch on film. I would describe my style as creative, documentary photography, with a touch of traditionalism. That essentially means that my shoots become a mix of improvised play and laid-back photographic direction. So, I might make you stop, breath, and take in the moment with me while we're out frolicking on a shoot.
The thing I've come to love most about photography is the people I get to capture and the sweet, everyday moments that become permanent pieces they can treasure. Whether you're an engaged couple, or two people on their wedding day, or a new parent, or a growing family, life always seems to happen too fast. My favorite aspect of photographing people, whether it's during a big, once-in-a-lifetime event or everyday moments in your home, is getting to freeze time for just a second and allowing that moment to stand as an artifact of a life worth lived.
My camera and I live with my husband, Jared, and our two sweet boys, Rowan and Weston, in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I start each day with a cup of green tea and a desire to capture life's beautiful moments.
