It all began with afternoon tea.

I grew up in a small town in Virginia, on a quiet street where neighbors frequently called one another for a cup of sugar or some other small request. As a young kid, I'd willingly go spend my afternoons visiting those same neighbors, many of whom were retired. They'd fix me a cup of tea and hand me a plate full of cookies while I listened wide-eyed to stories from "long ago." The treats were an added bonus, but I was really there for the stories. I loved hearing people talk about the things that made them smile—the memories they wanted to hold onto.

Many years later, when I worked in a newsroom writing stories for a local paper, I found myself sitting across from new faces, hearing new stories. But my role wasn't all that different. I sat there, wide-eyed, asking questions and finding joy in hearing people explore what this story meant to them and their community.

As a multi-passionate creative, I kept finding myself drawn to new professional roles, but when I sat down to reflect on my career, my favorite aspects of any job I had held were hearing people share something about themselves, asking deep questions to get them thinking more, and helping them see things in a new way—or at least hold space for that possibility.

And that's exactly what coaching is all about.

I'm now a leadership and business coach focused on helping entrepreneurs clarify and claim the vision they most want for themselves, in work and in life, and begin taking steps to make it a reality.

I believe our world needs more of us claiming our truest stories, but so often, fear and uncertainty can get in the way. And that's where coaching comes in.

Whether you're wanting to launch a business, make a career change, or lead with more purpose, we'll work together to explore what's holding you back, clarify your vision, and get you taking steps toward living it today. Because it's time you finally claimed the story you want to be living.

the why

I believe that by authentically claiming your stories and stepping into your unique vision for your life, you create impact in the world — an impact that only you are capable of making — while getting to know yourself more deeply. And that is at the heart of everything I do.

the where

I currently live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, nestled between the Shenandoah National Park and the George Washington National Forest. In case you haven't guessed, it's kind of pretty here. But luckily, I still get to serve clients from anywhere.

the weekends

On the weekends, you can find me hanging with my husband and two boys, getting coffee with friends, reading a good book, hiking in the mountains, or watching every crime doc on Netflix.

In my free time ...

Playing superheroes with my boys. I get a lot of practice playing the mean villain, but I'm always the supportive good guy when working with you!

Spending time on my mat. Yoga and meditation are the practices that help me feel more connected and centered—and these practices serve me well as a coach, too.

Impulsively buying new books to add to my stack because there's no such thing as "too many books." But lucky for you, that means I'm always ready to give a book recommendation!
